Australia’s Armidale class patrol boats complete their proud service

Defence Australia : Armidale-class sail into history.

The Royal Australian Navy has formally farewelled its Armidale-class Patrol Boats, HMA Ships:

  •  Albany
  • Bathurst
  • Childers

The HMA Ships arrived into port for a final time at HMAS Coonawarra, Northern Territory, and a decommissioning ceremony was held in their honour. The ships accumulated more than five decades of combined service, during which they played a vital role in safeguarding Australia’s borders, enforcing maritime security and protecting national interests.
