The Japan Maritime Self‑Defense Force has launched the twelfth and final Mogami-class stealth frigate, marking the culmination of one of its most advanced surface combatant programs. This new class of frigates blends stealth design, modular mission capability, and cutting-edge sensors, significantly enhancing Japan’s maritime defense posture in the Indo-Pacific. An enhanced version of this ship class has been selected for Australia’s SEA3000 General Purpose Frigate program.
